There was something unique when I spoke to Obie on the phone. Probably the fact that he was sincere, honest and true, and which I didn't know back then just how honest he could be, sometimes painfully honest. As we spent more time learning about Rails, and Ruby and Hashrocket, we decided that they were definitely the right partner for us with Taigan. Hashrocket introduced us to several different tools: Pivotal Tracker, Basecamp, storycarding. All those things were pretty foreign to us. Agile process wasn't foreign to us, but why we needed so many tools when all we wanted to do was to give them our wireframes and designs was foreign. We spent about 10 days over the course of a month storycarding with a pair of Hashrocket developers. We didn't quite understand why we needed to pay for two resources for that, but probably about three months into the process it became clear to us that we had really picked the right partner. We had almost an unhealthy relationship with our team, because they were so amazing that we just wanted them with us all the time. They understood the model and became part of it, and helped us understand the parts of our business that we had not thought out yet, at such a granular level. Then it became obvious why we were using Basecamp and Tracker and why we had a pair of developers in storycarding. If we went back to January of this year, there would be many things on the website that we didn't know that we needed. The look, the feel, the richness of it - Taigan is just a very wonderful experience - there's beautiful and unique items on the site, and it's almost a comparison to Hashrocket, that it's a great experience and very wonderful people, and that they were able to take what we were trying to achieve through Taigan and write code to put it to the site and it's everything that we could have imagined and more...
